About

The two people who show up.

Cleval is Tom Tran and Allen Douglass. Tom runs the workshops and is your point of contact. Allen leads the workflow engineers and the IT setup. Nobody gets handed off to someone you have not met.

Why we do this

Sacramento companies were getting webinars.

We started training Sacramento teams on AI in 2026 because the options we saw were a recorded course, a software reseller, or a Bay Area consultancy priced for venture-backed companies. None of them sat with an estimator or an office coordinator and worked through the actual task.

So we did. This year we have run the program for a government affairs firm downtown, an electrical contractor in Natomas, and a regional small-business advisory network, each at the client's office, with the team's own documents on the screen.

As far as we know, no one else in the region has run whole-team, multi-week AI programs inside local companies more than once. We have, and each engagement has made the next one better. This is still a small practice by design: we take engagements we can deliver in person in Sacramento County, and we say in the contract what is guaranteed and what is not.

Who we are

Tom and Allen.

Tom Tran

Runs the workshops. Your point of contact.

Tom has spent fifteen years turning data into decisions for brands you know: Blue Diamond Growers here in Sacramento, Abbott's Pedialyte, Scotts Miracle-Gro, The Wonderful Company, and Comcast NBCUniversal. His job in those rooms was the same one he does in yours: take something new and complicated and make it something a team can actually use on Monday.

Since 2024 he has also been a marketing advisor with the Sacramento Valley SBDC, sitting across the table from local owners and working through their real problems. That is where this practice started, and it is why the program is built around your documents instead of a slide deck.

UC Berkeley BA in Political Economy, Michigan Ross MBA. He is the one running the room every week, and the one who answers the email.

Allen Douglass, CPA

Leads the workflow engineers and IT setup. CPA.

Allen is a CPA with more than twenty years in CPA firms, consulting firms, and technology companies, and he runs three businesses of his own: ALTIUS CPA, which provides technology and staff to CPA practices; Business Tax Incentives; and Accodal, which builds international teams for U.S. companies. He also leads NoCodeLowCode.AI, where he ships AI tools without a large engineering department, which is exactly the situation most Sacramento companies are in.

His clients have ranged from public companies to small private firms in manufacturing, professional services, the trades, and engineering, and he still manages the software development in his own companies himself. He knows what a deadline, an audit, and a compliance standard look like from the inside.

On an engagement, Allen designs the workflows, leads the engineers who sit with your people at their desks, gets accounts and connectors set up, and makes sure your data policy is something a CPA would sign.

How we operate

Four things we hold to.

01

Say the price first.

A program fee plus a per-participant fee, quoted before we start. If the scope changes, the number changes in writing.

02

Teach on your documents.

We collect your real forms, estimates, and reports before the first workshop. Every example in the room is yours.

03

Build with, not for.

We sit next to your people and build together, so the work is maintainable after we leave.

04

Be clear about what is guaranteed.

The time, the people, and three written outputs. What your team builds depends on them. The contract says so.

Where we work

Sacramento County, in person.

We are based in Sacramento and take engagements we can reach by car on a Monday morning: downtown, Natomas, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Folsom, Citrus Heights. If you are outside the county and want to talk, email us and we will be honest about whether it works.
